"Farewell Summer"

Gorgeous summer days are almost past.

The days are long but the season short.

Like a dandelion whisp life floats fast

And another season is quickly gone.

I used to wish the summer days away

Because you see, I hate the heat.

Yet children laugh and play

And eat their favorite treats.

So I have learned to love these days

As I watch my children grow

Like the children of my garden

Grow fast like a seed just sown.

Oh to be wise and not wish away

Each day and precious hour,

To watch my children play

And treasure my sweet flowers.
