Do you need some Christmas sheet music ideas for an upcoming event? If you are like me, sometimes I let performances creep up on me, and I am left scrambling for ideas. Christmas is such a busy time for everyone, and church musicians are called upon to play the most during this special season. Playing and/or singing out of the hymnal is a trusted standby, but it is always nice to have familiar tunes “spruced up” in arrangement form.

I have gathered some of my favorite Christmas sheet music from my music cabinet and would like to share these resources with you. Some of the music was written by yours truly, and the other pieces are written by some of my favorite arrangers. I hope you can find a little inspiration for this Christmas musical season!

Violin

Worship the King by Kristin Campbell and Ruth Coleman – This easy hymn collection contains two Christmas pieces, Away in a Manger and All through the Night.

The Everlasting Song by Kristin Campbell and Ruth Coleman – This advanced hymn collection features one Christmas piece, O Holy Night. The arrangement is quite advanced and would require a skilled pianist.

Hallelujah! What a Saviour! Kristin Campbell and Ruth Coleman – This intermediate hymn collection features one Christmas piece, What Child is This?

Come, Christians, Join to Sing by Kristin Campbell and Ruth Coleman – This intermediate hymn collection features one Christmas piece, Still, Still, Still.

Winter’s Snow by Kristin Campbell and Ruth Coleman – This intermediate hymn collection for violin duets features seven beloved Christmas songs.

Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus by Ashley Qurollo – This easy violin solo is perfect for a younger player or an advanced player needing something quick to learn.

Piano

Christmas Kaleidoscope, Book 1 by Martha Mier – This intermediate collection features eight well-known Christmas carols.

A Christmas Collection, Book 2 by Kenon D. Renfrow – This intermediate collection features nine well-known Christmas carols.

Joy to the World by Rebecca Bonam – This intermediate collection features twelve piano solos and three duets.

Good Christian Men Rejoice by Rebecca Bonam – This late intermediate/early advanced collection feature 16 piano solos.

In the Bleak Midwinter by Ashley Qurollo – This intermediate piano duet for two pianos works well for an offertory setting or a Christmas recital.

Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus by Ashley Qurollo – This simple piano arrangement would work well for the offertory setting or even a Christmas recital.

Voice

Silent Night, Holy Night by Ashley Qurollo – The beloved words are set to a new tune plus several new verses. This piece works well for solo voice plus piano accompaniment and optional violin obligato.

God Chose a Lowly Maid by Ashley Qurollo – This completely new piece will make a fresh addition to any special music schedule or Christmas program. Written for two-part ladies’ duet, this would also work well for a ladies’ group or ensemble.

I hope you found some inspiration for your next sacred performance!
