After the Storm

October 7, 2024

Happy Monday, friends! Today will be more chatty and less polished than usual.

I'm sure that most of you know that hurricane Helene ravaged the southeastern United States. Many have lost their homes, businesses, and loved ones.

We praise the Lord for safety and protection in the storm with the greatest trial being a tree falling on our outbuilding. No structural damage took place, and with God's help and wisdom my husband safely removed the tree. (It's a scary thing to watch my husband cutting with a chainsaw while standing on a slippery roof!)

We still don't have internet access which makes producing my usual post rather difficult, so I am just typing from my phone. But we are so very grateful that not having internet is the greatest of our troubles.

In my personal Bible reading last week, I came across this verse in Amos.

Amos 5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name:

What stood out to me that was God calls the waters of the sea and then pours them out upon the face of the earth. The homeschool mama in me sees so many science lessons right here in this verse! God can gather up the waters of the sea and then pour them out where He pleases.

I do not pretend to know why God allowed this storm, but I know that God is good. He is Master of the winds and the waves.

Dear friends, I try to word my thoughts carefully, but I want to share a passion of mine with you today. I desire for anyone who reads this blog to know for sure of his or her eternal salvation! Life is so very short, and in a moment life can be over.

John 3:16, the verse so popular with children, is the gospel in a nutshell! It's the good news for lost and dying sinners!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Friends, I try hard not to be "preachy" on my blog, but if you are unsure of your eternal destiny and have questions, I would love to chat with you. Please never hesitate to send me a message!

If you were affected by the storm or have loved ones affected by the storm, I would love to pray for you. Please send me a personal message, and I would be honored to pray for you.

Have a blessed week!

My wonderful friend Ashley

It was great to see everyone at church on Sunday! I hugged everyone, with tears. We have an amazing church family! It was great to get hugs from all the kiddos! I love them so much! I believe Sunday night was my best nights sleep since Hurricane Helene challenged us! We are survivors, I am always grateful for GOD in my life! Thank you for the HOT meal!

I'm truly blessed by what GOD provides! We just have to ask and be patient!

Always Grateful

Mary, we are certainly blessed with a wonderful church family. We aren't just co-members, but we are family. I love how we all look out for one another, and for many, the ties at church are stronger than blood relationships.

God brought us through the storm, and just like our Sunday School teacher reminded us, Jesus is right there with us in the storm. We needn't be afraid...no matter what the outcome.♥️
